The SWG lecture series "Energy Knowledge on Tuesday" will focus on the topic of heat pumps on 29 October.

Installing a heat pump is one way to fulfil the future requirements of the Building Energy Act in terms of heat generation. But is the technology really suitable for every building? This and many other questions will be addressed in the lecture from the "Energy Knowledge on Tuesday" series on 29 October. Under the title "Air source heat pumps - the heating system of the future", an expert from Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG) will shed light on the various aspects that owners should consider before deciding in favour of or against a heat pump. In fact, it is important to check in each individual case whether such a device can work economically in the property intended for it - in other words, whether it can heat the rooms to a comfortable temperature at a reasonable cost.

Comprehensible for everyone

At the beginning of his presentation, the SWG expert explains the functional principle of a heat pump. "This introduction makes it easier to understand what requirements the technology places on the building," says Moritz Müller, energy consultant at SWG, explaining the structure. The presentation then goes on to address the myths that still surround heat pumps. "We have compiled many facts that stand up to any reality check," adds Moritz Müller. For example, the fact that heat pumps can usually also be operated economically with conventional radiators. This can be proven, among other things, by the fact that heat pumps have been proving their worth in practice in many other countries for a long time. "The presentation explains the requirements for economical operation," adds Moritz Müller.

Of course, the various types of heat pumps will also be discussed - including all their advantages and disadvantages and the resulting sensible application options. Last but not least, the combination of heat pumps and photovoltaic systems is also on the agenda.

Conveniently from home
All lectures in the "Energy Knowledge on Tuesday" series will take place online. Nevertheless, there is of course the opportunity to ask questions, just like at a face-to-face event. Anyone who would like to watch the "Heat pump" lecture on Tuesday 29 October at 5.30 pm can register at energieberatung@stadtwerke-giessen.de by 27 October. SWG will send out the link to the event on 28 October.
