Mobile with natural gas
Today, the term CNG is usually used for natural gas as a fuel. CNG stands for "compressed natural gas". This is because the natural gas is compressed to 200 bar for refuelling.
Since 2017, all CNG vehicles have been refuelling with biomethane at our natural gas filling station - including Giessen city buses. The quantities of gas required for CNG refuelling at our natural gas filling station are produced by a biogas producer and fed into the local gas network. Biomethane is produced from natural raw materials. When biomethane is burnt, only as muchCO2 is released as was absorbed from the environment during the growth of the plants. This means that biomethane has one of the best life cycle assessments and can therefore make a further contribution toreducing CO2.
