Information regarding the continued chlorination of drinking water in Nordeck
In Allendorf (Lumda), in the Nordeck district, the precautionary chlorination of drinking water will continue.
This measure was prompted by a microbiological anomaly detected during routine drinking water tests. In close consultation with the relevant public health authority, the necessary measures were subsequently taken to ensure that the drinking water is of impeccable quality. The chlorination of drinking water is currently continuing as a disinfection measure. At the same time, ongoing tests and checks on drinking water quality are being carried out.
Chlorination may result in a noticeable smell of chlorine or a slightly altered taste in the drinking water. This is a possible side effect of the disinfection currently being carried out. The town of Allendorf (Lumda) remains in close consultation with the relevant public health authority on this matter. As soon as chlorination is no longer necessary and can be discontinued, the public will be informed accordingly.
We ask residents for their understanding regarding this measure, which remains necessary.
