Are our employees satisfied and how can we develop them further? These are two of the many questions that HR managers often ask themselves. In order to answer them, we need to clarify a number of things: How do we measure satisfaction and what qualifications do employees need?
In order to find the answers, Emma Schempp, a specialised student at the Max Weber School, carried out a project to obtain the "State-certified business economist" qualification. With this project work, which aims to acquire the skills to independently analyse, structure and solve tasks from the focus area in a practical manner, the student has also helped her employer, Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG), to make progress. By specialising in controlling, SWG has been given the opportunity to be supported in personnel controlling. With the "Introduction of a personnel performance indicator system", the project work has created a sound basis that makes it possible to make the success factor "employees" measurable. This is the only way to reliably answer the questions of satisfaction or personnel development that are of interest to HR managers.
