On 30 April, Stadtwerke Gießen will explain what is important today when deciding on a new heating system as part of its "Energy Knowledge on Tuesday" lecture series.
Anyone who needs a new heating system today - for example because their old one is defective or no longer works efficiently - faces a real challenge. Not just financially, but simply because of the new complexity of the matter. In view of the many variables, the search for a customised heating system has probably never been more challenging. The Building Energy Act, which came into force at the beginning of the year, clearly regulates which systems are permitted and until when. Ultimately, however, homeowners have to decide for themselves. The lecture "The right heating system" from the "Energy knowledge on Tuesday" series offers good assistance in this regard. It covers all the important aspects of this topic. As usual, an expert from Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG) explains the options available and the various factors that should ideally be taken into account in a way that is easy for laypeople to understand.
Lots of influencing factors
The current legal requirements still leave relatively much room for manoeuvre when it comes to choosing a new heating system. However, the government subsidies currently available, an estimate of the running costs and, last but not least, sustainability should play a decisive role in the decision-making process. And it is precisely these three points that laypeople are usually unable to assess adequately, if at all. For this very reason, the lecture also deals with this topic. "We compare different heating systems and energy sources - such as heat pumps, hybrid solutions or district heating - and work out their advantages and disadvantages," announces Kevin Krempel, energy consultant at SWG.
Energy knowledge conveniently online
Like all lectures in the "Energy Knowledge on Tuesday" series, this one will also take place online. This means that anyone who would like to find out more about "The right heating system" on 30 April at 5.30 pm can register at energieberatung@stadtwerke-giessen.de by 28 April. SWG will send out a participation link in good time. Of course, it will still be possible to talk to the expert despite the online format. There will be plenty of time for questions and answers after the presentation.
