From Saturday, 15 May, you can once again swim and splash around to your heart's content in Giessen. This is when Stadtwerke Giessen will open the outdoor pool in Giessen's Ringallee for the 2010 swimming season. The pools will be open to swimmers from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. until probably September.
Over the past few weeks, SWG had already prepared its outdoor pool for the usual rush of visitors on the first hot days. "The sunbathing lawn and, of course, all the technical facilities are now in top form," reports Uwe Volbrecht, deputy head of the swimming pool department at SWG. "This means we are ideally equipped for the new swimming season," Uwe Volbrecht is certain.
In addition to perfectly functioning technology, bathers can now look forward to one thing above all in the new bathing year: the admission prices remain the same. The single ticket still costs 2.40 euros, the 5-person ticket is available for 9.60 euros and the season ticket for adults costs 67.20 euros. The reduced annual ticket price for children and those entitled to a discount is 44.80 euros. The price of the family ticket also remains the same, at 134.40 euros for the whole season.
Another tip for early birds: if you buy a season ticket, you can also get an early swimmer ticket. This allows you to swim your laps undisturbed from 7am.
Kleinlinden and Lützellinden outdoor pools
The outdoor pools in Kleinlinden and Lützellinden will also open their doors in May, probably towards the end of the month. The SWG service hotline on 0180 22 11 100, available Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., has the latest information. Prices and opening times at a glance can also be found in the "Pools" section of the SWG website at www.stadtwerke-giessen.de.
