As part of the numerous easing of contact restrictions, Stadtwerke Gießen is reopening the RMV mobility centre in the SWG customer centre on Marktplatz.
After a break of around seven and a half weeks due to the coronavirus, the RMV mobility centre will reopen its doors on Monday, 11 May. This is a step towards everyday normality. As in all other shops and facilities where people come together, strict rules of behaviour still apply. "We are delighted to finally be able to advise and serve our customers in person again," explains Anne Müller-Kreutz, Head of Local Transport Services at Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG). She adds: "At the same time, we urge you to comply with the current hygiene regulations in the mobility centre as well." This includes wearing a protective mask that covers the nose and mouth and keeping the usual distance of at least 1.50 metres from the next person. In addition, SWG must limit the number of customers in the consultation room to two. It is therefore only ever necessary to enter one at a time after someone has left the mobility centre. The classic cold etiquette of coughing and sneezing into the crook of your elbow goes without saying. Although SWG accepts cash, they ask that you preferably pay by card. And if you feel ill, it's best not to visit in person. "In this case, please use our telephone advice service or the services on the Internet," adds Anne Müller-Kreutz.
Important to know: The opening only applies to the RMV mobility centre. The other two areas of the SWG customer centre on Marktplatz - customer service and energy advice - will remain closed to the public until further notice.
Almost as usual
When the mobility centre reopens, the usual service will be available in full: All RMV tickets are available as eTicket RheinMain and at the special rates Gießen or Friendship Pass as well as the Rhein-Main Card. In terms of advice, everything is running as it did before the closure. The staff will provide information on fares and timetables, advise on all tickets and provide information on car sharing. In terms of opening hours, however, SWG is not quite back to normal: the mobility centre welcomes customers from Monday to Friday between 10 am and 4 pm. Other options for purchasing tickets online are the RMV app or the RMV ticket shop as well as the personal sales points at Tabak Wagner in Giessen station and Papeterie Westbrock at Schulstraße 11 in Wieseck.
A protective measure also remains in place on the buses, which has a direct impact on the purchase of single and day tickets. "We are still unable to sell tickets on the bus," explains Anne Müller-Kreutz, citing the mobile phone ticket via the RMV app as an alternative.
