Outdoor pool season begins in Kleinlinden and Lützellinden
On 2 June, the two district outdoor pools open their gates to bathers.
Next Monday, 2 June 2025, the Kleinlinden and Lützellinden district pools will open for the season. In contrast to the Ringallee outdoor pool, which has a heated pool and has been open since the beginning of May, Kleinlinden and Lützellinden always need a few more days of sunshine. "Experience shows that the water temperature is only around 18 degrees at the beginning of May," says Uwe Volbrecht, head of the Giessen swimming pools at Stadtwerke Giessen (SWG), explaining the different dates.
New opening times and prices
Both pools will open at 1.00 p.m. and close at 7.00 p.m. as usual, with admission closing one hour earlier. There will be minor changes to the admission prices. A single ticket costs 3.30 euros, a five-ticket costs 14.90 euros. The reduced five-ticket costs just 9.90 euros. The season ticket costs 66 euros, the discounted version 44 euros and families pay 132 euros. Admission is free for children up to the age of 5 as well as for students of Justus Liebig University, the Technical University of Central Hesse and the Theological University. The latter only need to register in advance and have their ticket activated at a staffed ticket office in the Ringallee outdoor pool. Students can then enter the pools themselves by holding their QR code in front of one of the scanners located at all cash desks and entrance turnstiles.
