Renovating a residential building - better with a timetable
In the "Energy Knowledge on Tuesday" lecture series, the topic "Individual renovation roadmap" is on the programme on 27 May at 5.30 pm.
Politicians introduced a price for climate-damagingCO2 years ago. As this price is gradually rising, heating with fossil fuels will become more expensive in the foreseeable future. The aim of the measure is to decarbonise the heating sector more quickly. After all, every cent that the price of fuel rises increases the incentive to modernise your own four walls. After all, heating costs can only be kept under control in the long term if heat is generated efficiently and as little of it as possible is lost. An excellent tool for such fundamental modernisation is the individual renovation roadmap, or iSFP for short. This useful service from Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG) is the subject of the upcoming lecture in the "Energy Knowledge on Tuesday" series.
Why an iSFP?
Experts believe that only just under a third of German residential buildings fulfil the requirements of the German Building Energy Act, which is one of the reasons why so many properties are due for refurbishment in the coming years. This poses a problem for many of those affected: "Most laypeople feel overwhelmed simply because of the numerous structural aspects that need to be taken into account," says SWG energy consultant Moritz Müller, who has had many conversations with customers. Then there is the question of the cost of the necessary measures - such as insulation, new windows and, of course, an efficient heating system.
The iSFP addresses these two points. Basically, it is a detailed guide for the thermal optimisation of residential buildings. "An iSFP shows which measures are necessary and sensible. At the same time, however, the financial possibilities of the owners are always included in the plan," reveals Moritz Müller. There are also considerable financial benefits from an iSFP. In short, the topic is very complex. And that is precisely why it should be worthwhile for many people to attend the presentation. In his 45-minute presentation, the SWG expert will cover all the important aspects of the iSFP - in an understandable way and with practical examples.
