Ten young people have started their vocational training at Stadtwerke Gießen AG (SWG). Numerous applicants had applied for the apprenticeships at SWG.
Lisa Handstein and Jörg Backhaus (industrial clerks), Johannes Velte and Jan-Marc Zarstek (electronics technicians for energy and building services engineering), Tim Emrich and Christoph Jung (electronics technicians for industrial engineering), Marco Diehl and Florian Heimberger (plant mechanics), Tanja Schwarzl and Alexander Nickerl (swimming pool specialists) are now starting their training. In addition to the ten trainees, a total of three technical college students - Francesco Labellarte from the Max Weber School and Sören Glatthaar and Julien Thomas Fedak from the Theodor Litt School - are also completing a 12-month internship at SWG.
Manfred Siekmann, Chairman of the SWG Management Board, welcomed the trainees and their parents to the company's own training centre on the first day of their new careers. Alfons Buchholz, Chairman of the Works Council, welcomed the trainees on behalf of the Works Council.
The two technical trainers Hagen Luh and Peter Zeizinger, swimming supervisor Udo Handloser and the training manager and women's representative, Ruth Biehl-Franze, organised the rest of the day's events.
In an "induction week" organised for the first time this year, the young people had already had ample opportunity to get to know the company and their contacts during the previous week.
With the new trainees, there are now 32 young people in training at SWG plus seven trainees who are being trained in sub-areas on the basis of co-operation agreements with other training companies.
