Special timetables for Giessen's city bus services will once again apply at Christmas and New Year's Eve this year. On Christmas Eve, the Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG) lines will run according to the familiar Saturday timetable until late afternoon. From around 17:00, they will take a break until the following morning. On 25 and 26 December, the buses will run according to the Sunday and public holiday timetable.
Those travelling by bus can look forward to a special fare offer. Day tickets and group day tickets purchased with validity for 24 December can also be used on 25 and 26 December - without having to pay again. Even if you only buy the ticket on 25 December, you can still use it on 26 December.
On New Year's Eve, the Saturday timetable applies from the start of service until around 11.30 pm.
Attention night owls
The Saturn and Venus night bus routes will be cancelled from 22 December to 8 January.
However, Stadtwerke Giessen has once again set up the popular shuttle service for New Year's Eve. It will get revellers home safely and they can leave their own car at home.
A special timetable applies between 01:00 and 04:00 on New Year's Eve. The general fare regulations apply. The three New Year's Eve bus routes run within the city of Giessen and to Heuchelheim - each every 60 minutes. The following circular routes will run from Berliner Platz:

Passengers can always obtain up-to-date information on changes to the timetable by calling the SWG service number 0641 708-1400, on the Internet at <link verkehr.html _blank>www.stadtwerke-giessen.de/verkehr</link> or directly at the mobility centre in the SWG customer centre on Gießen's Marktplatz. Opening hours of the mobility centre: Mondays to Fridays from 09:00 to 18:00 and Saturdays from 09:00 to 14:00. The mobility centre is closed on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve.
