For the month of May, the Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund (RMV) is generously extending the travel allowance for holders of 9 o'clock tickets: They can now take an additional adult with them from 9 a.m. at no extra charge, as well as all their own children or up to three children aged 6 to 14.
"The take-along offer in May is a great opportunity for senior citizens in particular to try out local public transport as a couple," says Anne Müller-Kreutz, Head of Local Transport Services at Stadtwerke Gießen.
Irrespective of this taster offer in May, the 9 o'clock season ticket is a good value offer. By way of comparison, a monthly ticket for the city of Giessen and the municipality of Heuchelheim costs 29.40 euros as a 9 o'clock ticket, while the regular price is 34.60 euros. The difference is even more marked with the annual pass subscription. The motto here is "travel for 12 months and only pay for 10 months". The 9 o'clock annual pass is available for 294 euros instead of 346 euros.
Further information on various offers for commuters and frequent travellers is available at the mobility centre in the infoCentre on Marktplatz. The latest brochures on the 9 o'clock annual travelcard, for newcomers to public transport and the RMV-XtraTour for adventurous travellers with lots of tips for excursions in the region are also available here.
Opening hours: Monday to Friday from 9 am to 6 pm and Saturdays from 9 am to 2 pm. Information by telephone on 0641 708-1400.
