During the Hessian autumn holidays, a construction site makes it necessary to set up a shuttle service in Rödgen.
Due to the complex installation of a house connection for natural gas and water, Udersbergstraße in Rödgen (L3126) will be fully closed between Seewiesenstraße and Friedrich-Ebert-Straße from Monday, 5 October 2020. As a result, buses on route 1 will no longer be able to pass through this area. As there is no suitable diversion option for the articulated trains used here, Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG) is organising a shuttle service for the last three stops: Smaller solo coaches will travel back and forth between the regular terminus "Rödgen-Bürgerhaus" and the Rödgen industrial estate.
In the direction of Rödgen, the "Industriestraße" stop will not be served by line 1. Instead, SWG will set up the replacement stop "Canonstraße" in Industriestraße. Passengers will change directly to the shuttle buses here. In the direction of Giessen, passengers will also change from the shuttle bus to the regular Line 1 at the "Canonstraße" replacement stop.
This regulation applies from the start of operations on 5 October 2020 up to and including Friday 16 October 2020 - i.e. for the entire Hessian autumn holidays. Of course, SWG will coordinate the timetable of the shuttle buses with that of Line 1, which should eliminate waiting times.
