There are ways and means of improving the indoor climate and keeping heating costs under control at the same time. An expert from Stadtwerke Gießen explains how this works in his presentation at the SWG customer centre on Marktplatz.

What simply has a minor effect in summer proves to be a real problem in winter: windows that are left open permanently or at least for long periods of time. "They don't provide the desired air exchange, but instead ensure that heat is lost," says Martin Lorenz, energy consultant at Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG). In addition, this type of ventilation often promotes mould growth. Because the masonry above it cools down and then water condenses here. In other words, the opposite of what was actually intended often happens.
In order to debunk the common myths surrounding the heating of living spaces and the all-important exchange of indoor air and to explain how both work properly, Stadtwerke Gießen is inviting you to the lecture "Heating and ventilating correctly" on Wednesday, 30 October 2019 at 6 pm at the energy advice centre in the SWG customer centre. In his 60-minute presentation, Martin Lorenz will explain how room temperature and energy consumption are linked. He also explains how to use the thermostatic valve correctly. He will also explain to his audience the consequences of excessive humidity and how it can be effectively reduced. This much can already be revealed: If you take Martin Lorenz's tips to heart, you can save money without investing a single cent in any modernisation - the right behaviour is all you need. "Just know how," adds Martin Lorenz.

The lecture itself is also free of charge. As the available space limits the number of participants, SWG asks interested parties to register. There are two options for this: by telephone on 0800 2302100 or by e-mail to energieberatung@stadtwerke-giessen.de
