The indoor season at the Ringallee swimming centre starts on Monday, 12 August. Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG) used the summer break primarily to modernise the facilities and the building. In future, visitors will enter the pool centre through a newly designed main entrance. SWG has not only replaced the outdated electric sliding door, as technical director Reinhard Paul explains: "Older parts of the façade have disappeared and have been replaced by translucent glass elements. This visually enhances the entire area and guests are immediately immersed in a world of well-being."
In the indoor swimming pool, the remaining part of the old façade from the 1960s was also replaced with an energy-saving glass façade. The diving facility and the stairs to the water slide were also given a new floor coating - another plus in terms of safety. SWG also fitted the ladies' shower with new wall tiles. While bathers will be able to swim, jump and relax in the indoor pool from 12 August, the sauna will remain closed following the fire at the end of July. "As soon as the clean-up work allows, we will reopen the functional part for customers," promises Reinhard Paul.
Prices and opening hours
The admission prices and opening hours of the Ringallee bathing centre have not changed compared to last season. Adults continue to pay 3.70 euros for a single ticket, children, schoolchildren and students 2.50 euros. A ten-person ticket for adults costs 29.60 euros, while the discounted version is available for 20 euros.
And those who prefer to swim their laps in the open air rather than under the roof of the pool still have the opportunity to do so. The Ringallee outdoor pool will remain open for the time being, depending on the weather conditions. The same applies to the two outdoor pools in Kleinlinden and Lützellinden.
