Klein-Linden outdoor pool opens on Thursday - Lützellinden on Sunday

After Stadtwerke Gießen AG (SWG) opened the gates of its outdoor pool on Ringallee a fortnight ago, all fans of the outdoor pools in Klein-Linden and Lützellinden can now rejoice: the outdoor pool in Klein-Linden will open on Thursday, 26 May 2005. The swimming pool in Lützellinden will not open for the outdoor pool season until Sunday 29 May 2005. The reason for the three-day delay in opening is the new pool lining installed by the municipal utilities in Lützellinden. Bathers in Klein-Linden and Lützellinden can expect a water temperature of 19 degrees. It is currently no warmer on the well-known and popular holiday coasts. On the Mediterranean, the water temperatures are between 17 degrees (Cote d'Azur) and 20 degrees (Balearic Islands). On the French Atlantic coast, the water is only 15 degrees, on the North Sea 9-11 degrees and on the Baltic Sea 8-10 degrees. Outside of the holidays, the pools are open Monday to Friday from 12:00 to 20:00. At weekends, on public holidays and on all days during the school holidays, the outdoor pools are open from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm. During the winter break, both the Klein-Linden and Lützellinden outdoor pools underwent numerous renovations and the usual maintenance work. Admission prices remain stable. Single admission costs 1.50 euros. Adults pay 30 euros for a season ticket. A five-ticket is available for 6 euros and a season ticket for the whole family costs 60 euros. Further information is available Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on the service hotline 0180 22 11 100.
