From Sunday 6 October, just in time for the start of the winter semester, there will be new bus timetables for Giessen city transport. This is announced by the local transport division of Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG). This particularly affects lines 10, 801 and 802, which run to the Philosophikum in Rathenaustraße. Because there are more and more passengers on this route, SWG is responding by increasing the use of buses during the day and in the evening. At the same time, new departure times will apply for the entire route of all three lines.
The departure times of lines 1, 2, 5, 10, 15, 800, 801 and 802 will also change at several stops from 6 October. Specifically, this means for line 1 from Lützellinden to Rödgen: the bus from Berliner Platz at 07:41 will no longer end its journey at the Albert-Schweitzer-Schule, but will instead travel to the US-Depot stop (Sophie-Scholl-Schule). The departure times will change between Rödgen-Bürgerhaus and Waldstadion, from Berliner Platz everything will remain the same. For bus lines 2 (direction Eichendorffring), 5 and 15 (direction Wieseck), new times will apply from next Sunday for the route Bahnhof/Mathematikum - Marktplatz. Line 2 with destination Bahnhof/Mathematikum will serve the stops between Eichendorffring and Berliner Platz at new times. The same applies to the stops on lines 5 and 15 between Wieseck and Behördenzentrum. The new timetable also affects the circular service on route 800 between Giessen and Wettenberg: in future, the last bus will leave Giessen at 23:30 instead of 23:35 as before and reach its destination Am Wingert in Krofdorf-Gleiberg at 00:02.
For bus routes 3, 6, 7, 9, 12 and 13, the previous timetable will remain valid.
