After the electricity and gas provider Teldafax failed to pay SWG-Netzgesellschaft Mittelhessen Netz GmbH (MIT.N) any fees for the use of its energy networks for several months despite repeated requests, the corresponding network usage contracts will now be terminated with effect from 30 April. This affects around 1,050 customers in MIT.N's grid area in the city of Giessen and the surrounding area. "However, these customers do not need to worry about their electricity and gas supplies," promised MIT.N Managing Director Frank Hoffmann. Even if Teldafax Energy GmbH does not meet its payment obligations, the supply to the customers themselves is not jeopardised at any time. As required by law, Stadtwerke Gießen AG, as the responsible basic supplier, will now take over the so-called replacement supply from 1 May. "We will of course inform all affected customers again in writing," says Frank Hoffmann. MIT.N staff will also be available to answer any queries from Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on the service number 0180 22 11 103.

The cancellation of the contracts in Giessen is by no means unique: in the past, several network companies of regional suppliers have already been forced to cancel their network usage contracts with Teldafax due to high outstanding amounts. Here too, the company had not paid the network utilisation fees set by the Federal Network Agency as part of the energy price for a long time.
