Watering. Whether showering, brushing your teeth, cooking or washing your hands - these everyday activities would be unthinkable without water. In this country, the number one foodstuff flows from the tap into millions of households as a matter of course. But where does it come from and why is it so precious?
Water Day at the Queckborn waterworks
The clown Ichmael provided answers to these questions in his interactive, energetic laughter and learning theatre on Water Day at the Queckborn waterworks, which is operated by Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG). Around 110 children marvelled at the numerous magic tricks, physical and chemical experiments during the 60-minute programme "The sun also only cooks with water". The boys and girls from the "Regenbogenland" day care centre in Giessen, the "Kükennest" kindergarten in Butzbach and the "Die Waldfüchse" forest kindergarten in Lich learned how to use the number one foodstuff sparingly in a playful way.
Michael Rösner, Head of Private and Commercial Customer Sales at Stadtwerke Gießen, is delighted with the good response from the carers and the many amazed children on Water Day. "This year, we wanted to offer the little ones an opportunity to get to know this precious resource from a very special perspective and with lots of fun. Thanks to the exciting, educationally valuable performance, we succeeded," says Michael Rösner.
