On 22 March, Stadtwerke Gießen is offering all interested parties a look behind the scenes of drinking water production and water supply. The closing date for registration is 21 March.

Where does the water for Giessen and the surrounding area come from, how does it get to each individual tap and what technology is used? Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG) will answer these questions on Friday, 22 March at the Queckborn waterworks and the elevated tank near Annerod. Between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m., visitors will gain an insight into today's drinking water supply during free guided tours of the facilities. They will learn about the effort that goes into providing Germany's most strictly controlled foodstuff in perfect quality and what has changed over the past decades.

Register in good time
SWG will accept registrations until 21 March on 0800 2302100. The meeting point on 22 March is the Behördenzentrum bus stop in Giessen. From there, the bus will leave at 2 pm for the Queckborn waterworks, which is not only open to visitors on Water Day. Schools and clubs in particular can arrange visits all year round. Interested parties can find an online form to fill out on the SWG website www.stadtwerke-giessen.de under the heading "Water".
