Thanks to falling incidences, the Giessen pools can open on 8 June. Of course, visitor limits per pool and day as well as the usual hygiene rules apply.
Giessen. On Tuesday, 8 June 2021, Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG) will open the Ringallee indoor pool including sauna, the Westbad, the Lützellinden and Kleinlinden outdoor pools and the Ringallee outdoor pool. The stable incidence values below 50 make this possible. "We have prepared long and carefully for this day and are delighted that it is finally happening," explains Uwe Volbrecht, head of the Giessen pools. With the opening to the public, the clubs training in the pools can also resume their sporting activities.
Tickets by other means
In order to fulfil the requirements, SWG is introducing zero-price tickets. This procedure covers the necessary appointment arrangements. It also ensures that the number of bathers per day does not exceed the number authorised by the authorities. These tickets are available in the online shop at www.giessener-baeder.de for all open pools and for various time slots.
Instead of a valid admission ticket, customers receive a QR code. This code must be taken into the swimming pool. It is scanned before the admission price is paid - at the cash desk or at the ticket machine. Of course, the Giessen pools also offer an analogue option in exceptional cases: it is indeed possible to make an appointment and pay at the cash desk.
Important to know: There are no season or season tickets this year. "We can't guarantee the usual use," says Uwe Volbrecht, explaining the restriction. The Giessen pools will exchange season tickets that have already been purchased from the first day of opening.
Proof of vaccination, certificates of recovery and certified negative tests - not older than 24 hours - are only required for a visit to one of the indoor pools and the sauna. Appropriate control personnel are available here. "We currently manage without these restrictions in the outdoor pool," adds Uwe Volbrecht.
That leaves the issue of hygiene rules. They apply without exception. In other words, masks are compulsory on the way to the changing rooms. In order to comply with social distancing rules, only a certain number of people are allowed in the showers and swimming pools. "We have agreed all these measures with the health authorities," continues Uwe Volbrecht.
More information online
The Giessen swimming pools provide detailed information about the exact opening times and admission prices on their website. There is also a lot more information about the corona-specific regulations and how to buy tickets. "In the FAQ section, our bathing guests will find answers to the vast majority of questions," says Uwe Volbrecht confidently. www.giessener-baeder.de
