Once again, a fraudster is trying to sign electricity contracts at the front door under false pretences. The man, dressed in a suit, claims to be an employee of Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG). "That's definitely not the case," explains Ulli Boos, Head of Marketing at SWG. "Our employees never turn up at our customers' homes unannounced - unless it's an emergency. And then they can identify themselves."
SWG recommends never giving out customer details and meter numbers at the front door or over the phone. It is even more important to strictly refuse such dubious representatives access to the flat. In addition, SWG is asking for the help of those affected: Please report if you come into contact with such a fraudster. The more tips we receive, the greater the chances of putting a stop to these crooks. Call the service number 0800 23 02 100 (free of charge from the German landline network and all German mobile networks), visit the SWG customer centre on Marktplatz or send an e-mail to info@stadtwerke-giessen.de
