If you still have an older generation heating system in your basement, you've probably been thinking about modernising your heating system for months. But switching to natural gas could be so easy. With its new service, Energie-Plus, Stadtwerke Gießen AG (SWG) offers a complete solution for heating modernisation from a single source. Those who decide in favour of the SWG service offer have no planning and scheduling stress. SWG's energy consultants organise the conversion of the heating system simply and easily together with the affiliated specialist companies from the region.
Several customers already benefited from SWG's heating modernisation services last year. In the anniversary year of 150 years of gas supply, SWG is offering a complete solution in cooperation with the heating and plumbing guild: Energy Plus.
Customers who opt for this service offer can use individual services or the complete solution. Michael Rösner, Head of Private Customer Sales at SWG, and Gerd Euler, plumbing and heating engineer and also deputy head of the Guild for Heating and Sanitary Engineering (SHK), presented the services behind Energie-Plus for the first time at Bau Expo. SWG's energy consultants will be available to answer questions about the new service on all days of Bau Expo.
New service: Planning and construction
The new module, planning and construction of the heating system, completes the Energy Plus services. SWG thus offers a one-stop service when it comes to modernising the heating system. In co-operation with local HVAC tradesmen, SWG takes over the planning and construction of the new heating system. SWG obtains quotations for the customer and compares them. The customer selects three companies in advance so that SWG can get started. The SWG experts then review the offers and discuss them with the customer. Once the customer has decided in favour of an installation company, SWG takes action. SWG takes over the scheduling, processing and monitoring of the conversion to natural gas. At the end, the municipal utilities hand over the operational heating system to the customer.
Further components at a glance:
Natural gas house connection
With natural gas, customers no longer have to worry about how long their fuel supply will last. Maintenance of the natural gas heating system is also simple and inexpensive. SWG advises interested parties on all aspects of a natural gas house connection and prepares an offer for the installation of a connection. SWG will also coordinate the work with civil engineering companies or the road traffic authorities.
Heating oil buy-back
In connection with the conversion of the heating system to natural gas, SWG buys back existing heating oil. And at the same price that the customer paid. This means that the financial means for converting the heating system to natural gas, which are available in the form of heating oil, are available to heating system converters. The transport costs incurred are of course borne by SWG.
Tank disposal
SWG also offers the decommissioning of the old tank system, from cleaning and dismantling to disposal. The old systems are removed together with specialised companies. The customer then receives the necessary certificates from SWG.
Transitional solution
For customers who do not yet have natural gas in their street, Stadtwerke offers an interim solution for the supply of liquid gas or heating oil until natural gas can be supplied by SWG.
