In the "Energy Knowledge on Tuesday" lecture series, SWG's energy advisors explain how energy can be saved simply and effectively.
The price trends for electricity and natural gas since last autumn have left even the most experienced players on the trading floor perplexed. In fact, Germany is experiencing an unprecedented energy price rally, which is making historic highs seem like real bargains just a few weeks later. The war in Ukraine and its course are exacerbating the situation on the energy market. As a turnaround is not in sight, the energy consultants from the SWG customer centre, the central point of contact for Stadtwerke Gießen, have designed the "Energy Knowledge on Tuesday" lecture series. "We have virtually no influence on rising energy prices. But by showing our customers how they can save energy, we put them in a position to reduce their energy costs at least to a certain extent," says Wilhelm Braun, Head of the SWG Customer Centre.
The lecture series starts on 26 April at 5:30 pm with the topic "The right heating system for your building". Legal requirements, state subsidies, the assessment of running costs and, last but not least, sustainability usually present laypeople with a puzzle that is difficult to solve. SWG's energy experts shed some light on the subject. By comparing the various energy sources and heating systems - such as heat pumps, hybrid solutions or infrared heating - and analysing their advantages and disadvantages. Anyone interested in attending the presentation on 26 April can register at energieberatung@stadtwerke-giessen.de. In response, SWG will then send out a link that will allow you to participate via any standard Internet browser.
Wide-ranging programme
The entire series of lectures covers a broad spectrum. Although the focus is clearly on saving energy, SWG will also be revealing how customers can make their lives a little easier. This aspect of convenience is also reflected in the form of the lecture series. "During coronavirus, we digitised our offering and introduced video presentations," says Wilhelm Braun. He adds: "Experience has shown that online lectures offer many advantages that also apply without the social distancing rules." Consequently, the decision was made to make the video format the standard. There will of course be an opportunity to ask questions, which the SWG experts will answer.
