There are many ways to save heating energy. Stadtwerke Gießen will explain exactly which ones on 28 November - in a lecture from the "Energy Knowledge on Tuesday" series.
Cold and wet outside, nice and warm inside - especially in autumn and winter, we appreciate the convenience of a functioning heating system in this country. But regardless of whether natural gas, district heating, electricity or heating oil is used - many households spend far too much money on heating, especially in times of high energy prices. Because they have to generate significantly more heat than they actually need due to unfavourable behaviour.
This is where Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG) would like to help. In the lecture "Correct heating and ventilation" from the "Energy knowledge on Tuesday" series, a specialist from SWG explains important correlations - for example between room temperature and energy requirements. From this, he derives recommendations on how warm it should be in which room. "Of course, we'll give lots of practical tips in the lecture on how to achieve these reference values as efficiently as possible," promises SWG energy consultant Kevin Krempel.
Fresh air is a must
The second part of the presentation deals with the right indoor climate and how it can be sensibly created. Because this much can already be revealed here: Fresh air is a must. To avoid mould, but also from an energy point of view. "It is practically impossible to achieve the necessary air exchange with tilted windows," Kevin Krempel quotes from the presentation. Instead, they represent artificially created, massive leaks through which precious heat escapes. Last but not least, the SWG expert addresses another problem that tilted windows can cause: Damage to the fabric of the building.
On the screen at home
SWG Energy Consultancy has designed the "Energy Knowledge on Tuesday" series as an online offer. The lecture on the topic of "Correct heating and ventilation" starts on 28 November 2023 at 5:30 pm and lasts around 45 minutes. If you would like to attend, simply register at energieberatung@stadtwerke-giessen.de by 27 November 2023. SWG will send out a participation link in good time before the event. Important to know: Although this is an online format, there will of course be an opportunity to ask questions. "The presentations are usually followed by a lively discussion. We will keep this up," says Kevin Krempel, describing the tried-and-tested procedure.
