Entertainment for all age groups and music for almost every taste is promised by the programme that the organisers of the Giessen City Festival have put together. Tens of thousands of visitors will be partying in front of the stages and in the streets next weekend - on Friday and Saturday until late in the evening. "To ensure that people from Giessen and the surrounding area can get home safely by public transport after the festival, our buses will be running longer again this year," promises Anne Müller-Kreutz, Head of Local Transport Services at Stadtwerke Giessen (SWG). SWG has set up a special timetable for many routes from 23:30 from the Marktplatz stop. From there, buses on line 1 to Lützellinden and Rödgen, line 2 to Eichendorffring, line 3 to Friedhof and Wartweg, line 5 to Wieseck and line 7 to Philosophenwald will run until around 01:00 in the morning. Line 801 runs to Weststadt and Rathenaustraße. Line 24 runs to Heuchelheim-Kinzenbach. Passengers can get to Petersweiher and Sandfeld as well as in the direction of the Protestant Hospital by scheduled taxi, which also departs from Giessen Market Square.

Venus and Saturn for the night hours
The free city buses "Venus" and "Saturn" also run on the nights from Friday to Saturday and from Saturday to Sunday - as usual from 00:30 to 04:30. The Venus line stops at the railway station/Mathematikum and runs between the north and west of the city, including Wieseck. The Saturn night bus route travels to the south and east of Giessen as well as to Kleinlinden. Passengers can reach the districts of Rödgen, Allendorf and Lützellinden by connecting taxi. The start and destination - every hour - is Berliner Platz. "Of course, it's also worth travelling into the city by bus during the day. This saves you having to look for a parking space, which will certainly be a particular challenge again this weekend. If you buy a group day ticket for up to five adults with friends, you pay 6.20 euros," explains Anne Müller-Kreutz.

Special timetable during Run'n Roll for Help
On Sunday afternoon, some bus routes will change. Due to the Giessen city run "Run'n Roll for Help", route 5 in the direction of the railway station and route 12 to Berliner Platz will take a diversion from midday until around 8.00 pm. Line 5 will run in the direction of the railway station from the Landgericht stop via Moltkestraße, Grünberger Straße to Berliner Platz. The Berliner Platz stop will be used instead of the Behördenzentrum stop. Line 12 will take an alternative route from the Steinstraße stop via Nordanlage and Marktplatz to Berliner Platz. The Landgericht stop will be cancelled. Buses on lines 5 and 12 travelling in the direction of Wieseck or Sandfeldschule will not be detoured.
