Every year on the 4th Advent, the finest brass band music can be heard in the Giessen Congress Hall. Connoisseurs plan this date firmly into their diaries. This is when the large wind orchestra of the Musikverein Reiskirchen 1982 e.V. plays a Christmas concert. The club's young musicians, who are always allowed to accompany the wind orchestra, are also spurred on by the prospect of such a concert. The youngest musicians play in the children's music school, the regional children's orchestra, the school marching band and the youth wind orchestra - the Reiskirchen association offers a wide range of programmes. Julius Debus has been playing the flute there for four years and has since switched to the trumpet and minstrel's flute. Her son also gave Inge Debus the idea of nominating the Reiskirchen Music Society for one of the 75 good deeds of Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG). "I am inspired by the voluntary work of the youth leaders, who put their heart and soul into their work and support the children. That motivated me to give something back to the club," says the employee from the Marketing & Sales department at SWG. And so, on Sunday, 3 November, she handed over a donation cheque for a children's trombone to Otmar Scheld, 1st Chairman of the music association. "Like so many clubs, we are also struggling with limited financial resources. That's why we are particularly pleased about the generous donation from Stadtwerke Gießen," says Otmar Scheld, who also conducts the wind orchestra in addition to his role as Managing Director. "Because in order to provide sufficient support for our young musicians, we always need new instruments that we can make available to them."
