Last Saturday, Stadtwerke Gießen AG (SWG) invited children to do Christmas crafts at the infoCentre on the market square. Under the motto: Everyone needs a guardian angel, 28 young artists made their own personalised guardian angel. Before the starting signal was given, Ellen Rothgerber, an employee of SWG, explained to the young participants what they could expect from the craft activity. To awaken the creativity of the little ones, the SWG employee showed the young guests some patterns she had designed herself and off they went. First, the children painted the clay pots with acrylic paints. The participants then hung the arms and legs they had made from pipe cleaners or raffia on a bent wire loop. The head was then painted and also threaded into the loop. The kids created the wings with particular fondness. After all, what would a guardian angel be without wings? Now the craft was finished, all the children had to do was decorate it. Most of the young guests made their guardian angels for their parents and grandparents. The creative masterpieces were a clear sign that the children had a lot of fun.

The next crafting event for children will take place in March next year. Stadtwerke will reveal when in its next customer magazine.
