Four technical trainees at Stadtwerke Gießen AG (SWG) had every reason to celebrate.
They completed their 3 ½-year training period at the Giessen Chamber of Crafts and the Giessen-Friedberg Chamber of Industry and Commerce with good and very good grades, and the newly qualified electricians Michael Tuschla from Staufenberg and Felix Wettlaufer from Alsfeld passed their exams with flying colours. The two also started their day-to-day work at SWG on 1 February. The two fellow trainees, Michael Heinrich from Staufenberg and Jan Linker from Rabenau, also successfully completed their training as energy electronics technicians specialising in systems engineering. Like their two colleagues, the two electronics technicians will be able to demonstrate their performance and skills in their day-to-day work at the municipal utilities over the next twelve months.
Congratulations
During a small ceremony, the technical training team, Peter Zeizinger and Hagen Luh, as well as the head of training at SWG, Ruth Biehl-Franze, congratulated the four successful graduates. Manfred Siekmann, Chairman of the SWG Management Board, and Hans-Jürgen Schulz, Head of Human Resources, also took the opportunity to congratulate the career starters on receiving their certificates.
Training at first hand
Stadtwerke not only assumes responsibility for the region in the area of energy and water supply, but also in the area of training in particular. A modern training centre is available for technical training. Two full-time trainers look after the trainees here. Word has got around that Stadtwerke has been providing school leavers with a qualified start to their careers for decades. Industrial companies from the region also take advantage of this offer and have their "apprentices" trained at SWG.
