Ziegenhainer Straße closed due to work on a gas pipeline
The disconnection of a gas pipe has made it necessary to close Ziegenhainer Straße in Stufenberg for a short period.
The disconnection of a gas pipeline will necessitate the temporary closure of Ziegenhainer Straße in Staufenberg.
Over the next few days, Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG) will be disconnecting a gas pipe on Ziegenhainer Straße in Staufenberg. The work required is expected to take two to a maximum of three working days and is scheduled to take place between 14 September 2026 and 25 September 2026. However, the exact date within this period has not yet been confirmed. For the duration of the works, the affected section near house number 6 will be closed to vehicles from approximately 6.30 am to 4 pm for technical and safety reasons. This means that, unfortunately, residents affected by the works will also be unable to enter or leave their properties during this time. Outside the specified working hours and overnight, the excavation pit will be secured with a steel plate, thus allowing vehicles to pass through.
SWG asks all those affected for their understanding regarding the restrictions associated with the building site and recommends that they take the road closure into account when making their own plans – in other words, to park any vehicles they need well in advance outside the affected area.
