Energy-saving quiz organised by Stadtwerke Gießen and Local Agenda 21

Last Tuesday, Mayor Gerda Weigel-Greilich and Reinhard Paul, Technical Director of Stadtwerke Gießen AG (SWG), congratulated the winners of the "Energy - Saving at Home" competition. Reinhard Paul (SWG) and Gerhard Wiesmeier from the Local Agenda 21 group "Renewable Energies/Energy Saving" presented the prizes to the winners in the foyer of Stadtwerke Gießen.

Everyone who visited the SWG and Local Agenda exhibition entitled "Energy - Saving at Home" at the infoCentre in October had a chance of winning. Over 200 participants found the correct answer to the energy quiz and took part in the competition.

First prize stays in Giessen
The main prize, a pressure cooker, was won by Hildegard Müller from Giessen. Hans-Joachim Lerch from Wettenberg was delighted with a PowerSafer. A cookery book from the "Electric Cooking" series went to Reinhold Häuser and his wife from Pohlheim. Other winners were Dr Ingrid Bär from Pohlheim, Gottfried Tögel and Elisabeth Nickel from Giessen.

The aim of the exhibition was to show visitors how they can save electricity and thus contribute to climate protection without sacrificing comfort.
