Tobias Kratz from Alsfeld and Ann-Kathrin Schwarzl from Buseck were delighted to win the 1st and 3rd main prizes on Saturday 8 July 2006: an Apple iPod Shuffle and a USB stick. Dennis Ronzheimer from Staufenberg, the winner of the 2nd prize, a 50 euro shopping voucher for a sports shop, was unfortunately unable to attend.
This year, the SWG training day on 1 July 2006 was a joint event with the district youth fire brigade, the two Giessen guilds for electrical and information technology and for plumbing, heating and air conditioning technology and the district craftsmen's association. Here, the winners learnt about apprenticeships at the municipal utilities, the tasks of the trades and numerous fire service activities.
They were also able to learn a lot from the technical discussions led by trainees on the topics of "Smell of gas", "How does electricity get into the house", "Smoke alarms" and "First aid".
