The pupils at Wiesengrundschule in Leihgestern are looking forward to more variety in their break times: they will soon be able to ride around the schoolyard on two new tricycles of the Römerwagen type. "The play equipment available to our pupils is now a bit outdated," explains Heidi Jung-Grebe, headmistress of the primary school. "That's why we are delighted that Stadtwerke Giessen is helping us to purchase new equipment." On 22 March, Sabine Lindner from the customer service department of Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG) presented Heidi Jung-Grebe with a donation cheque for the purchase of two Römerwagen tricycles. The SWG sponsor, whose daughter attends Year 2 at Wiesengrundschule in Leihgestern, had suggested the tricycles as one of the "75 good deeds". In its anniversary year, SWG is using them to support organisations, projects, institutions and clubs throughout the region. "Children need a lot of exercise during their breaks and with new play equipment they have a lot more fun," Sabine Lindner is certain.
