The trade union ver.di has called a warning strike in local transport for tomorrow. This will also affect bus services in Giessen.

The trade union ver.di announced warning strikes in local transport at the beginning of the week. Since yesterday, it has been clear that bus drivers at Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG) are also being asked to stop work on Friday, 2 February 2024 - from the start of the shift until the end of the late shift. Such a warning strike will have a direct impact on bus operations. In order to ensure the best possible planning for passengers, those responsible at SWG have decided to run the buses according to the Saturday timetable tomorrow, Friday.

"In addition, our colleagues in local transport planning are trying to offer extra journeys," explains Ulli Boos, company spokesperson for SWG. However, how successful this will be depends on how many drivers are actually available. Not only the strike, but also the typical seasonal staff absences due to illness make the endeavour a real challenge.

SWG asks all passengers for their understanding and apologises for any inconvenience caused. SWG will of course publish all strike-related changes via the dynamic passenger information systems at the stops and transmit all information to RMV as quickly as possible for up-to-date electronic timetable information. SWG will also keep its passengers up to date on its website:
