When professionals work together, they achieve even the most ambitious goals. One reason why the Licher BasketBären have extended their contract with the energy experts at Stadtwerke Gießen AG (SWG) by three years. This means that the trusting partnership will continue - at least until 2014.
Ina Weller, company spokeswoman for SWG, is delighted that the cooperation with the basketball players from Lich will continue. At the signing of the contract on 15 July in the BasketBären's new office at Braugasse 24 - which is of course fully supplied by Stadtwerke Gießen - she explained: "The team is a figurehead for the district of Gießen. As a company with regional roots, we are proud to continue supporting the team in its sporting successes in the future." Gregory Strohmann, responsible for sponsorship at the second-division basketball club, also sees the extension of the contract with premium partner SWG as an important sign: "Stadtwerke Gießen is not only one of our most loyal sponsors, but also one of our most important ones. By extending the partnership for at least another three years, we have gained a great deal of planning security. We are very much looking forward to continuing our collaboration."
The partnership between SWG and the Licher BasketBären has proven itself over many years. It is almost a matter of course for the players to wear the Stadtwerke logo on their jerseys. Last year, the company also gave its name to the "SWG Cup". For the 150th anniversary of TV 1860 Lich, the basketball Bundesliga teams of the LTi GIESSEN 46ers, the Artland Dragons Quakenbrück and the Telekom Baskets Bonn played in the Dietrich-Bonhoeffer-Halle.
