Once again this year, Stadtwerke Giessen has organised a special bus service between Giessen and Wettenberg for the Golden Oldies weekend in Krofdorf-Gleiberg.

In Wettenberg/Krofdorf-Gleiberg, tens of thousands of people will once again be travelling back in time to the 50s, 60s and 70s this coming weekend. At the three-day "Golden Oldies" festival, they can dance to the hits of days gone by and marvel at the magnificent classic cars presented by their owners on the main street in Krofdorf-Gleiberg. However, visitors will have to park their vehicles on the outskirts of Wettenberg - and expect long traffic jams in front of the signposted car parks. The organisers therefore recommend using public transport. Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG) has organised a special bus service for the weekend from 25 to 27 July. Mathias Carl, Managing Director of SWG's local transport subsidiary MIT.BUS GmbH, explains: "Festival visitors from Giessen and the region can reach their destination in comfort and get home again without any complications. Of course, this also applies to all those who first travel to Giessen by train and then continue their journey on our buses."

Stops and journey times
The shuttle buses run every 30 minutes between Giessen and Wettenberg. Passengers board at bus platform 1 at the railway station. Operating times: Friday, 25 July from 18:00 to 23:30, Saturday, 26 July from 10:00 to 00:00 and Sunday, 27 July from 09:00 to 20:00. The following departure times apply for the last buses from Wettenberg in the direction of Gießen from the Wiesenstraße stop in Krofdorf-Gleiberg: Friday, 25 July 23:56, Saturday, 26 July 00:26 and Sunday, 27 July 20:26.
In Giessen, the MIT.BUS buses will stop at the following stops: Railway station (bus platform 1), Liebigstraße, Johanneskirche, Stadttheater, Marktplatz, Oswaldsgarten, Schützenstraße, Gleiberger Weg, Leimenkauter Weg and Hochhäuser. Passengers can also get on and off the bus at the stops Launsbach Gewerbepark Ost, Gewerbepark West, Seemühle, Klingelgarten, Wiesenstraße, Kronzenborner Weg and Wißmarer Straße in Krofdorf-Gleiberg.
Festival visitors who use the special transport service only have to pay once for the outward and return journey on the same day - a day ticket costs two euros.
This offer applies exclusively to the special bus service, but not to the regular lines 800 and 802, which run to all stops in Giessen at the usual times. In Krofdorf-Gleiberg, the two lines will run on an alternative route via Wiesenstraße and Kattenbachstraße during the festival weekend and will only stop at Wiesenstraße, Kronzenborner Weg and Wißmarer Straße.

Passengers can find all information on stops and departure times in the special timetable for the Golden Oldies Festival - available from the Stadtwerke Gießen customer centre and on the SWG website www.stadtwerke-giessen.de/verkehr.
