TV Hüttenberg and Stadtwerke Giessen have been working together closely and in partnership for many years. As of today, this cooperation is visible in Giessen: the Bundesliga handball club presents its promise of tradition and three players from its own youth programme on a solo bus from the Stadtwerke subsidiary MIT.BUS.
Giessen. After the sensational march through from League 3 to the top German division, TV Hüttenberg now needs all the support it can get to survive in the upper echelons of German handball. This is precisely why Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG), one of the main sponsors, has launched a special project together with the club's management: From now on, a solo bus with TV Hüttenberg motifs from the Stadtwerke subsidiary MIT.BUS will be travelling through Giessen on a regular service.
"We want to use the bus to raise the profile of our ambitious team and attract new spectators to the home games in the Osthalle," explains Ina Weller, authorised signatory and Head of Marketing and Sales at SWG, at the bus launch. The vehicle itself bears the club's credo, with which it has made it back into the Bundesliga after many years of abstinence: "Handball tradition is at home here." Action pictures of the players Dominik Mappes, jersey number 22, Jannik Hofmann, jersey number 23, and Moritz Lambrecht, jersey number 7, back up this statement. After all, the three key players come from the Central Hesse handball region. They learnt their sporting trade in local clubs and have been playing for TVH since their youth.
"The fact that we are now regularly present in the cityscape of Giessen is a really great thing," says a delighted Lothar Weber, Managing Director of Hüttenberger Handball Marketing GmbH & Co KG and as such responsible for sponsors and PR. "Of course, as a newly promoted team, we're one of the underdogs in the league. But if a few more fans cheer on the team and create an even better atmosphere in the hall, the team can achieve its goal of staying in the league."
In fact, coach Emir Kurtagic and his team give their all every match day to achieve their ambitious goal - especially in front of their home crowd. And that makes its contribution. At the latest when the top teams or the Hessian neighbours from the strongest league in the world come to Giessen for a showdown with TV Hüttenberg, the Osthalle is transformed into the oft-cited cauldron. With frenetic fans in the stands and top-class sport on the pitch. "A real experience for every sports fan," says Ina Weller.
