Main prize remains in Giessen
The main prize, a video camera worth 1,000 euros, was won by Eva Ullrich from Giessen. The second prize, a digital camera worth 500 euros, went to Reinhold Speier from Lollar. The third prize in the additional draw was won by Joachim Degner from Mücke. He won an Apple iPod worth 200 euros.
Tour of Hope fundraising campaign
Every year, the Tour of Hope cycles through regions in Germany and collects donations in aid of children with cancer and leukaemia. This year, the tour took the committed cyclists from the worlds of sport, business, show business and politics through Giessen, Berlin, Potsdam and Dresden. Around 200 cyclists pedalled hard for four days and raised a record amount of over 963 thousand euros. Stadtwerke has also been supporting the goodwill campaign of the annual cycle tour for over ten years. Anyone who purchased a ticket for the Tour of Hope at events or at the SWG infoCentre was automatically entered into the additional prize draw organised by Stadtwerke, as were the lucky winners of this prize presentation.
