Experts still regard gymnastics as an ideal sport - especially for children. After all, the various exercises on the different apparatus promote and challenge many motor skills such as balance, strength, agility and endurance. And if, like at SV 1967 Kirchvers e. V., the focus is not on competition, the kids also have a lot of fun.
This fun factor is now even greater in Kirchvers - in the truest sense of the word. From now on, exercise instructor Susanne Simon has a new piece of equipment at her disposal: a mini trampoline. This helps the children to jump to previously unimagined heights. At least for the older ones between the ages of six and twelve. But the kindergarten children, who meet in their own group, also benefit from the new trampoline: "The wobbly surface trains their sense of balance and strengthens their muscles," says exercise instructor Susanne Simon.
Simply advertised and successful
The purchase of the mini trampoline would have posed a real financial problem for the comparatively small SV 1967 Kirchvers. The useful and versatile piece of equipment costs around 700 euros. Margarete Fiedler, the club's treasurer, therefore turned to "Spiel' Dein Spiel", the sponsorship programme of Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG), with an application. "All of us here are really happy that our application was successful. We probably wouldn't have been able to buy the trampoline on our own," she summarises.
"Of course, it's no coincidence that we chose SV Kirchvers this time," adds Stephanie Orlik, who is responsible for sponsorship at SWG. In fact, the criteria that SWG has developed for "Spiel' Dein Spiel" are clearly formulated. SWG wants to promote projects that encourage children and young people to get active. The children's gymnastics groups in Kirchvers fulfil precisely these requirements in an ideal way. Because the fact is that Susanne Simon's children's gymnastics classes lay an important foundation. Anyone who has attended her gymnastics lessons has a solid and, above all, versatile basic education, which makes it easier to get into many other sports later on. "And the new trampoline helps enormously," the dedicated trainer is certain.
