From Sunday 14 December, the updated timetables will apply throughout the Rhine-Main Transport Association. Stadtwerke Gießen has also changed the timetables for some city bus routes.

On Sunday, 14 December, the annual timetable change will take place in the area of the Rhine-Main Transport Association (RMV). With the start of operations, some city bus routes in Giessen will also have changed departure times and routes.

Changes for line 1
Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG) has completely revised the timetable for Line 1 due to an extension of the route to Lützellinden and the reorganisation or relocation of stops in Lützellinden and Allendorf.

Changes in Lützellinden:
In future, buses on route 1 will travel via Bitzenstraße, Lindenstraße and Rheinfelser Straße towards the final stop. Within the district of Lützellinden, the stops "Schwimmbad", "Bitzenstraße", "Lindenstraße", "Taunusstraße" (formerly the "Rheinfelser Straße" stop) and "Langer Strich" will be served. In the direction of Giessen city centre, the buses will travel directly via Rheinfelser Straße from the final stop, stopping at the "Taunusstraße", "Kirche" and "Kleebergstraße" stops.

Changes in Allendorf:
Due to the timetable change, the "Triebstraße" stop in Allendorf will no longer be the final stop, meaning that the "Kleebachschule" stop (formerly the "Schule" stop) will be served by all buses. The former stops "Triebstraße" and "Mehrzweckhalle" have been merged to form the new stop "Triebstraße", which is now located at a new location on the Kleebachbrücke bridge.

Section between Waldweide and Albert-Schweitzer-Schule:
Passengers will benefit from an improved service on Saturdays. In future, buses on route 1 will also run to the stops every 15 minutes after 2 pm - until 6 pm. Previously, buses ran every 30 minutes from 2 pm on Saturdays.

Changes in Rödgen:
Due to the revision of the entire timetable for Line 1, the departure times in Rödgen have shifted while the 30-minute interval is in force.

Changes for line 2
From Mondays to Fridays and on Saturdays, the first journey in the direction of Eichendorffring will now start at the "Oswaldsgarten" stop. The first journey from the "Eichendorffring" stop will start ten minutes earlier.

Changes for lines 5 and 15
The journeys on the previous line 15 have been integrated into line 5, meaning that line 15 will no longer be used in future. This has resulted in an improved timetable on line 5 between Wieseck and the railway station with a connection to the "Marktplatz" stop close to the city centre.

Timetable changes in "Rendezvous traffic":

In order to provide passengers travelling in the direction of Wieseck with a reliable connection at the "Behördenzentrum" stop during off-peak hours, the departure times from the "Bahnhof" stop will be five minutes later. This applies in particular to departure times in the evening and on Sundays and public holidays. When changing from the Wieseck direction of travel to the lines departing from Berliner Platz, there will be waiting times of several minutes in future.

New features for line 12

From Mondays to Fridays, buses will depart from the "Friedrich-List-Straße" stop at 7.38 pm instead of 7.44 pm and at 8.08 pm instead of 8.14 pm.
The previous departures at 8.10 pm and 8.40 pm from the "Sandfeldschule" stop have been brought forward by three minutes. The journey at 11.33 pm as a scheduled taxi from the "Marktplatz" stop now starts two minutes later.

Last journey from Berliner Platz

SWG has moved the last departures of all lines from the "Berliner Platz" stop from 11.28 pm to 11.33 pm. This regulation applies to both directions.

Renamed stops

The stop "US-Depot" has been renamed "Sophie-Scholl-Schule", the stop "Otto-Eger-Heim" will be called "Röntgenstraße" in future.

Line 11 Wetzlar - Giessen

With the timetable change, the route of line 11 of the Wetzlar transport company will change. From Dutenhofen, the buses will travel via Wetzlarer Straße to Kleinlinden. Two new stops have been set up on Wetzlarer Straße.
Line 11 no longer runs via Lützellinden and Allendorf as before. Passengers travelling from Lützellinden or Allendorf to Wetzlar can change between lines 1 and 11 at the "Bernhardtstraße" and "Wetzlarer Straße" stops.
