Due to a complete closure of Lange Ortsstraße in Rödgen, the city bus route 1 is expected to run on an alternative route for around ten weeks.
From Monday 9 September, Lange Ortsstraße in Rödgen will be fully closed due to construction work. "City bus route 1 is expected to run on a diversion route for ten weeks - the duration of the work," explains Anne Müller-Kreutz, Head of Local Transport Services at Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG). The alternative route will apply from the start of operations on 9 September and will run from the "Bürgerhaus" stop via Bürgerhausstraße, Kirchenring, Zum Bahnhof and Friedrich-Ebert-Straße to the "Helgenstock" stop. During the construction work, the "Brunnenweg" stop will be cancelled without replacement.
The alternative route is already known in Rödgen - as a so-called winter diversion. The buses always use this route when the regular route is not passable due to icy roads.
