Between 2 April and probably 18 May, the road surface of the state road 3126 between the US depot stop in Giessen and the entrance to Rödgen will be renewed. The city bus route 1 will therefore have to take a diversion.
Changes during construction phase 1
Up to and including 14 April, all buses on route 1 out of the city will only run as far as the US Depot stop. From there, passengers can use a replacement shuttle service operated by Stadtwerke Gießen, which will take a route via the tarmac track on Uderbornstraße to Rödgen. A special timetable with a modified route and special departure times in Rödgen applies to this shuttle service. The timetables have also been adjusted. While Line 1 normally runs every 15 and 30 minutes between Giessen and Rödgen, the replacement buses will run every half hour or hour.
In Rödgen, line 1 in the direction of Bürgerhaus stops at Helgenstock, Bürgerhaus and Brunnenweg. Stadtwerke Gießen has set up a replacement stop on the alternative route for the Industriestraße stop.
Construction phases 2 and 3
When the second construction phase begins on 16 April, passengers will once again be able to travel between Rödgen and Giessen city centre without changing trains. However, an alternative route will still be in place. Stadtwerke asks for your understanding for any delays. SWG will provide information on the diversion during construction phase 3, probably from 30 April, at a later date.
Information on bus services
Passengers can obtain the special timetable at the mobility centre in Schulstraße 7, at the Giessen administration office in the Rödgen community centre and at the ticket office in Rödgen, Dreieck 6. All information on times and routes is also available online at www.stadtwerke-giessen.de. The special timetable is also displayed at the Berliner Platz and US Depot stops as well as at all stops in Rödgen.
