Stadtwerke Gießen and FSV 1926 Fernwald are continuing their successful partnership for another three years.
In order to survive in the traditionally strong Hessenliga, the football teams playing in this division need partners they can rely on. FSV 1926 Fernwald has found one in Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG). The club and the energy experts from Lahnstrasse have been working together since 2006, when the club was still playing under the founding name FSV 1926 Steinbach and only became FSV Fernwald a year later. Apart from the club name, however, not much has changed. The team plays football successfully and the club, which is firmly anchored in the region, continues to do excellent youth work as the parent club of the JFV Mittelhessen.
More than just good footballers
But a strong team is not enough. "Without a strong and loyal partner, it would be difficult for us to keep up in the Hessenliga," says Lutz Becker, Director of Sport at FSV Fernwald. "That's why we're particularly pleased to have SWG at our side for the next three years," adds Volker Wallbott, Director of Administration. And Stefan Bechthold, responsible for public relations and marketing, adds: "SWG's commitment helps us enormously in our planning for the coming years."
It goes without saying that SWG will remain the club's reliable energy supplier. "Sports clubs like FSV Fernwald are important pillars of society. That's why we support such clubs in their work," explains Ulli Boos, SWG company spokesman, on the occasion of the signing of the cooperation agreement.
