In this particularly harsh winter, the vouchers for free natural gas went down particularly well with the three winners of the annual additional prize draw for the "Tour of Hope" fundraising campaign. Manuela Heinemann, Sabrina Runge and Ira Seibert received their vouchers at the Stadtwerke headquarters in Giessen's Lahnstrasse on Monday, 10 January. As in previous years, SWG supported the "Tour of Hope" in 2010 with the "Extra Chance" prize draw. The three winners bought their tickets at the SWG information centre or at other events organised by the municipal utility company and won a total of 30,000 kilowatt hours of natural gas. That is roughly equivalent to the annual consumption of a family of four. SWG company spokeswoman Ina Weller congratulated the winners from Gießen and Staufenberg and, together with Gerhard Becker and Volker Klein from the "Tour of Hope", was delighted with the great success of last year's charity tour. In 2010, the tour raised a record amount of around 1.4 million euros. The 366-kilometre cycle tour started with the prologue in Giessen on 11 August. Since 1983, the cyclists have succeeded in collecting around 22 million euros in donations. More information on the Internet at www.tour-der-hoffnung.de.
