The Ursulum motorway exit is to be closed

From 7 September, the Ursulum exit for traffic coming from the south will be closed for two weeks.

Gießen Municipal Utilities (SWG) are currently connecting the Ursulum industrial estate to the district heating network. To link up with the existing network, SWG must lay the necessary pipes, including under the A485 motorway. This crossing is due to take place shortly and will affect traffic from Monday, 7 September: motorists coming from the south will not be able to leave the A485 at the Gießen-Ursulum exit as usual. Instead, traffic will be diverted via the Gießen Nordkreuz junction. If everything goes according to plan, the Ursulum exit will be available again from 21 September. Important to note: the Ursulum slip road onto the A485 heading north will remain open.
