The light stays on
Two more energy suppliers have filed for insolvency. However, this has no impact on the actual power supply.
Competition on the energy market has claimed two more victims: Suppliers Systemstrom GmbH and e:veen Energie eG have had to file for insolvency. Proceedings are already underway for Systemstrom GmbH. This also affects citizens in the grid area of Mittelhessen Netz GmbH (MIT.N). This is because the transmission system operator Tennet has cancelled the balancing group contract with Systemstrom GmbH, which is necessary for the supply of electricity, and thus withdrawn the company's access to the grid.
However, former customers of Systemstrom GmbH do not have to sit in the dark. The legal regulation stipulates that in such cases, grid operators such as MIT.N transfer the supply of electricity to the responsible basic supplier. In this case, this is Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG). They take over the power supply without interruption. The relevant information is automatically sent to those affected.
