The energy transition at home – with solar energy
As part of its online lecture series ‘Energy Knowledge on Tuesdays’, Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG) will be providing information on the potential of modern photovoltaic systems on 29 September 2026 at 5.30 pm.
With the Solar Peak Act, the government has already drastically reduced the feed-in tariff since February 2025. Legislative changes at the turn of the year will make this situation even more severe. Consequently, this aspect now plays hardly any role at all in the profitability analysis of a photovoltaic system. Nevertheless, in many cases it remains worthwhile to harness the power of the sun to generate electricity on one’s own roof. “In my economic calculations for PV systems, I now only touch on the feed-in tariff in passing and focus almost exclusively on self-consumption. This provides planning certainty,” explains Moritz Müller, energy adviser at Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG). Furthermore, there are many good reasons to opt for a PV system – regardless of whether the investment pays for itself down to the last cent.
An energy adviser from SWG will highlight the arguments that still speak in favour of having your own solar power plant and the conditions that should be met for cost-effective operation in the talk ‘Photovoltaics – Energy from the Sun’ on 29 September 2026 at 5.30 pm.
Furthermore, participants will gain an insight into the ‘E-Revolution’ – SWG’s product range, which offers tailor-made solutions for the transition to a personal energy transition, from PV systems and electricity storage to charging points for electric cars.
Energy knowledge online – free of charge and from the comfort of your own home
The talk ‘Photovoltaics – Energy from the Sun’ is part of the popular ‘Energy Knowledge on Tuesdays’ series. These are free online events organised by SWG, which take place on the last Tuesday of every month. Anyone wishing to listen to the PV talk can register online at www.stadtwerke-giessen.de/vortraege until 27 September. All participants will receive the access link in good time before the event begins. Following the talk, there will be plenty of time for individual questions to the expert.
