Cheerleading: a versatile sport with local support
Cheerleading is a complex sport that combines dance, floor gymnastics and acrobatics. The Wild Fire cheerleaders from Grünberg take part in an international competition and are supported by Stadtwerke Gießen. They perform at various events and mainly support the Pointers Grünberg, but are also open to other regional teams. The cheerleaders train intensively three times a week and practise complex choreographies, stunts and jumps.
Personal and physical development through cheerleading
Cheerleading promotes important social skills such as teamwork, a sense of responsibility and trust. The sport also trains conditioning and coordination skills such as rhythmisation, endurance, strength and flexibility. Cheerleading is described as more than just a sport and teaches important life lessons in terms of cohesion, discipline and personal growth.
