Due to road construction work in the "Rechtenbacher Hohl" industrial estate, Stadtwerke Giessen has to relocate the "Langer Strich" terminus.
The final extension of the "Im Vogelsang" road in the "Rechtenbacher Hohl" industrial estate in Lützellinden is imminent. This has a direct impact on bus route 1, as the work means that the vehicles cannot turn round after the "Langer Strich" terminus. Stadtwerke Gießen is therefore rerouting the buses from the "Lindenstraße" stop in Bitzenstraße via Lindenstraße and Falltorstraße. In addition, the "Langer Strich" terminus will have to be relocated to Falltorstraße for the duration of the construction work. Due to the alternative route, the "Taunusstraße" stop in the direction of travel "Langer Strich" will also be cancelled.
The diversion and the relocation of the final stop will apply from Monday 25 September, when operations are expected to begin, until 3 November 2023. When this new arrangement comes into force, buses on route 1 will once again be able to serve the "Lindenstraße" and "Bitzenstraße" stops, which have not been accessible in recent weeks.
