Girls' Day at Stadtwerke Gießen was a complete success. 25 schoolgirls from grades 5 to 8 accepted the invitation from Stadtwerke to gain an insight into the technical world of an energy supplier at SWG's training centre. The focus was on the training professions of plant mechanic, electronics technician for operating technology and energy and building services engineering. There was also information on the profession of automotive mechatronics technician.
In the training centre, the students were able to demonstrate their manual skills and technical understanding. The SWG trainers, Peter Zeizinger, Hagen Luh and Ruth Biehl-Franze, guided the students through various areas of work in the metal, electrical and automotive sectors. Not only the trainers were available to answer questions, but also trainees who are completing a technical apprenticeship at SWG. This enabled the participants to find out useful information about everyday work.
If the exciting insight gained during Girls' Day was not enough for you, you should try to find an internship at Stadtwerke. An internship allows a deeper look behind the scenes of the respective professional fields.
